ESSENTIAL FUNCTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:Digital hardware design engineer is required to fill an immediate need for the Engineering COE group. Design circuits to work reliably in harsh environments. Lead design tradeoffs and analysis using DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) tools and processes and present results. Generate design documentation. Contribute to process optimization and productivity enhancements. Some projects will require work as a leader of the development team QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
* BSEE or Equivalent Degree.
* Have strong digital design skills in digital hardware design, board level design of digital control circuits, I/O circuits, 16/32bit microprocessors, PLD and FPG
A. (DFSS a plus). Strong technical problem solving skills (DMAIC a plus).
* Have a sound Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) background. Have proficiency with simulation tools and design for high noise and harsh environments. Proven ability to lead a design group from concept to release to manufacturing. Be able to drive open technical issues to closure. Familiarity with railroad and locomotive systems and their environments is a plus.
