Responsibilities 职责

Responsible for preparation of user manuals, help systems, and other technical publications to defined standards and format. Maintains department standards for productivity and quality with minimal direction from Supervisor/Manager.

Duties工作内容

Technical Research: Interviews development, QA, support, product management, CE, and hosting personnel. Reads development process artifacts and marketing materials. Learns to run software to be documented.

Technical writing: Organizes and writes outlines, doc specs, and drafts for manuals, release notes, doc sets, help systems, and other publications.

Technical reviewing: Reviews other writers work for accuracy, clarity, and consistency with department standards. Able to perform substantive edits when necessary.

Technical illustrating: Illustrates user manuals, release notes, etc. with basic illustration tools.

Document production: Update front matter and assemble completed .pdfs for electronic distribution and printing. Able to solve production problems and interface with production vendors when necessary.

Project planning: Assists group leaders and managers in project planning.

General: Follow company policies and procedures, write and maintain status reports, interview potential job candidates, help orient and train new employees, participate in performance appraisal process.

Requirements任职要求

- Minimum two years technical training or equivalent experience preferably working for a US company.

- Minimum of four to six years experience in technical publications which may include one year in a related field.

- Fluent in English desirable with oversea working experience

- Demonstrated ability to write technical documentation in Mandarin Chinese and American English.

- Knowledgeable on software and internet industry and their terminologies

- Familiar with software tools such as Word, Excel, Visio, Robohelp, etc.
