Job Description
Purchasing and Inventory Management Activities
· Under the leadership of Purchasing department and China General Manager develop local sourcing within China
· Participate in the development and execution of material strategy for all product classes
· Perform to goals regarding cost, quality, delivery, inventory turns and customer on-time for all product classes
· Process quotations received from the sales organization to established time targets
· Maintain and enhance strong partnerships with existing suppliers via excellent communication and approach to issues
· Visit and evaluate supplier’s technical and manufacturing capabilities
· Assist marketing and sales in solving supply issues impacting markets or customers
· Process purchase orders, entering into computerized purchasing system
· Reschedule or defer parts and/or expedite parts as required
· Resolve billing, shipping, and material errors or problems
· Obtain samples and specification sheets for customers
· Set up new part items in the computerized system
· Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation associated with the purchasing function. Supply relevant information to the accounting, sales, and
· warehouse functions, as required
· Ensure that all Purchasing activities and supplier interfaces are in accordance with
· ISO9000 policies and procedures
· Determine disposition of rejected materials, obtaining RAs from suppliers. Issue and maintain supplier corrective action requests. Follow up to ensure problems are not reoccurring
· Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations
Quality Duties
· Enter Supplier return purchase orders
· Enter and send Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and perform appropriate follow-ups
· Coordinate with the Quality Department on quality issues involving Suppliers and Customers
· Enter data for trend analysis for Customer returns, Customer corrective actions, Customer complaints, and Supplier corrective actions
· Enter proper inspection requirements based on current or historical inventory problems
· Gather quality data and present to Quality management for the corporate and departmental decision-making process
· Complete Quality Information Surveys submitted by Customers
· Assist with gathering product environmental data
· Assemble the Supplier Performance Reports and coordinate the quarterly mailings
Technical Support
· Assist employees with suggestions, ideas, and concepts, at the direction of Quality management
· Participate on cross-functional teams to ensure the continuous, on-going improvement of methods, processes, productivity, and quality, while reducing costs
· Provide technical support to all employees regarding quality, where appropriate
Requirement
· A bachelor degree major in wire and cable or related profession or a combination of education and experience
· Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
· Ability to interpret a variety of technical and business information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Know the difference between objectivity and subjectivity
· Must represent the company and department with excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external constituents both in English and Chinese
· Ability to write reports, business correspondence and operating procedures
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discount, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

Customer Service 80%
· Respond to customer requests for information in a timely manner
· Answer customer telephone calls, providing technical information and addressing and resolving inquiries and problems
· Process incoming mail and faxes, responding to customer needs and requests
· Sell Company products to customers, either by promoting products with existing customers or by following up referrals to new customers
· Work with Sales to develop quotes
· Expedite customer orders
Clerical Duties 20%
· Write and process customer orders and process confirmations of sales orders on our computer system
· Fill requests for catalogs, samples and giveaways
· Assemble or print catalogs or advertising materials, as needed
