Key Responsibilities

Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives.
Works on problems/projects of diverse complexity and scope.
Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution.
May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision-making process.
May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

Specific CPE FW/SW Responsibilities Include: •
1. Ongoing support and maintenance of turnkey firmware & software development systems for current AiO products. Resolve New Product & legacy monochrome AiO device Firmware and Software issues found in beta, Delta, and in the field. Build and release to the field as necessary.

2. Perform testing to validate new FW/SW releases for fixes and function to specification.

3. Technical liaison for firmware issues between the CPE PMT and the AiO R&D firmware organizations/community. Investigate and characterize issues reported from the CCC and technical marketing. Engage the appropriate turnkey resources to understand and resolve issues with either code changes or workarounds. Represent unresolved, recurring, or anticipated CPE issues to new product development firmware & software teams.

4. Develop means to improve issue reporting and debugging for beta, Delta, and in released AiO products.

5. Coordinate roll activity for new SW/FW CPE releases.


Qualifications
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. A bachelor’s degree or above in computer-related discipline.
2. Extended programming skills in C/C++, Java/J2EE, .Net or Scripts (VB scripts, Unix shell or Perl).
3. Used one of the RDBMS, like Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2 or MySQL more than half a year.
4. Familiar with UNIX platform (HP-UX, AIX, or Linux).
5. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with proven software trouble-shooting skills.
6. Technical reading and writing in English is a must. Strong communication skill in both Mandarin and English is a good plus.
7. Self-motivated, initiative with accountability
8. Quick learner and excellent team work.
9. Domestic or international travels are expected.

Objectives

−Make the AiO FW/SW CPE successful in terms of on time delivery, achieving financial targets, and satisfying customers
*Deliver CPE escalation resolution
*Deliver CPE rolls to the web and/or Manufacturing

-Plans and Schedules:
**Deliver preliminary program deliverables to firmware lifecycle process
**Deliver to agreed upon schedules

-Engineering Best Practices
**Set and follow defined quality engineering practices
**Complete and maintain software development documentation

-Communication
**Keep management staff and dependent peers, to the appropriate level, up to date on program and process issue .
**Participate in decision- making, risk assessment and contingency planning.
**Deliver documents and diagrams communicating processes and related items
**Deliver Monthly Goals and Accomplishments within first week of each month. Attend regular 1-1s with manager. Review objectives quarterly with manager.
