Description:Department DescriptionThe Global New Product Operations (GNPO) team partners with design engineering to co
-develop Mobile Device Business (MDB) solutions for the cellular products, build prototypes, deliver technologies, and transfer product/process recipes to high volume manufacturing. The GNPO enables the MDB to achieve a design anywhere, build anywhere approach to product introductions. The GNPO Test Engineering Group is primarily responsible for developing the manufacturing test and distribution programming solutions for new product designs. The GNPO Test Engineering Group insures that Design for Manufacturing Test (DFT) and Design for Software Postponement concepts are incorporated into the initial product design. The manufacturing test and distribution programming solutions developed by the GNPO are used for all prototype builds and are subsequently transferred to all MDB high volume manufacturing and distribution sites at product ship acceptance. The main components of the manufacturing test and distribution programming solution are the test software suite (C++), the test system design, and the test fixture design.Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
1. Provide the required test support of the automated systems used for the testing of 3G, GSM, CDMA and iDEN cellular products built in the Motorola factories and External Manufacturing Sites.
2. Works closely with high volume manufacturing sites to identify test issues and provide the required corrective action to achieve the desired manufacturing quality levels.
3. Travels to various production sites to seamlessly transfer the product and test solutions to high volume manufacturing.
4. Works closely with product hardware and software development engineers to develop and achieve manufacturing test improvement strategies that lead to continuous cost, productivity, and quality improvements.
5. Organize and conduct conference calls to support world
-wide remote manufacturing sites. Develop and maintain a good working relationship with Development, Production, and Floor Support groups.Requirement:
1. Fundamental understanding of digital communications (W
-CDMA, GSM, CDMA, iDEN).
2. Test instrument control experience with Agilent/Rohde & Schwarz equipment over IEEE
-488 bus.
3. Technical knowledge in statistical methods, quality improvement, process characterization, and SPC methods. Programming skills in C/C++, Windows XP/2K, ClearCase environment.
