- Ability to understand and support overall infrastructure: Windows 2003 Server, TCP/IP, Network Load Balancing, IIS, SQL Server all running together.
- Good MS SQL DBA skills (TSQL, SQL Agent, Replication, DTS etc.)
- TSQL scripting experience.
- Good all round production environment awareness.
- Excellent trouble shooting and fault finding skills.Additional skill sets required:
- They will work in an international environment within remote and virtual teams.
- Able to participate in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Sound problem resolution, judgment and decision
-making skills required.
- Ability to work under pressure and be able to work to tight deadlines.

- Understanding of product security (Applies to Windows, IIS and SQL Server.)Job DescriptionThe job is primarily operations and support of a number of internal Microsoft applications and systems.Technical issues are routed to the operations staff from several sources:
- Incidents from the user support team requesting help with user based issues affecting 1 or more users.
- Incidents from Operations Manager (or other systems that raise incidents e.g. SQL Server jobs).
- Incidents from other teams that rely on the services provided by the applications and systems.
- Existing incidents handed over from another shift (e.g. EMEA or US teams)All incidents need to be logged, prioritized according to application SLAs, and then worked on to gain a resolution. This work involves technical troubleshooting and problem solving.Regular communications need to be sent to user support and other teams, updating them on progress of incidents. Communications also need to be sent to user support teams in case of outages that impact many users.Some work is required to automate alerts and actions to auto resolve incidents and problems. This is generally building scripting or SQL based jobs. Apart from the scripting/SQL jobs, no development work is in the position – anytime we need help at that level we escalate to dev resources.New applications/versions are deployed on a regular basis and the operations teams are required to roll out the applications and systems.
