-must have very strong written and oral skills in English and Chinese
-business background in sales/marketing, experience in public relations, journalism and/or knowledge of the Chinese fashion media would be all be excellent assets.
-ability to write articles and press releases for fashion and trade media in Chinese is critical
-must be willing to travel within China
-must be a self starter and able to work independently
-knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Word, Excel and Outlook would be an asset
-past experience or knowledge of the fur trade would be an asset

Job Description
A contract position for a Public Relations/Marketing agent for this North American marketing organization will be required to establish and develop contact with the Chinese trade and to assist in the development of a brand presence with Chinese consumers through media and trade events and promotional activities. The ultimate goal is to increase sales of our product either directly to Chinese firms or indirectly through suppliers in other countries, this will be accomplished through trade and consumer promotional activities that will be directed by experienced promotional staff and executed by the Agent.

The Agent will be based in Shanghai and oversee activities in southern China. The agent will work independently and report to the international marketing director and the regional director in Beijing through telephone, email and fax communication. Throughout the year senior staff from North America will accompany the agent on trade visits to potential clients. Excellent verbal and written skills in English and Chinese are critical as well as the ability to work independently.
