Position: Mechanical / Piping – Site Engineer (Installation Engineer)Position Reports To: Section ManagerPrincipal Duties:
-Must have leadership skills and good communication skills (must be able to read, write, and speak English well). Computer literacy is an advantage.
-Studies all drawings, Project specifications and contractual obligations concerning the project.
-Keeps familiar with the work program, complete with all amendments at any given time as the project progresses.
-Keeps aware of the plant and equipment available, and its requirement throughout the project as a whole, does his best to ensure that his subordinates are also aware.
-In co
-ordination with the project planning engineer and in consultation with his subordinates produces short term schedules for operation within his area of authority. In similar manner.
-Discusses the forward program with his subordinates, ensuring that potential problem areas have been satisfactorily planned for as far as possible. Participates in planning solutions to major construction problems arising in the course of the project.
-Reviews all materials, consumables and all requisitions raised by his subordinates, even if after delivery of the items requisitioned, as a safeguard against duplication and waste.
-Participates in meetings with other project staff when requested, and with those sub
-contractors involved in work under his jurisdiction when necessary.
-Arranges and submits daily reports of work in progress.
-Reviews the forward manpower requirements and refers these to his supervisor for such action as is necessary.
-Reviews cost and code allocations of materials, consumables, man hours and plant hours to ensure that they are kept within budget as far as possible and are the subject of corrective action and/or careful reassessment as may be necessary.
-Initiates drafts of correspondence, for signature as necessary, on any matter concerning his site.
