Job Description
1.Responsible for working with Contract Manufacturers (CM) to ensure that work being done for IBM is provided at optimal cost.
2.Generating and/or validating card assembly projected and actual costs based on bills of material
3.Developing/validating anticipated assembly and test time estimates for new and existing card assemblies
4.Performing detailed cost validation activities on bill of materials provided by key contract manufacturers to ensure fair value received on over 150 card assemblies used primarily in System i&p, communicate with CM to ensure correct component sourcing and pricing is being used, verify frozen and future pricing proposed by CM to ensure correct bill of material costs, work with commodity councils to determine appropriate pricing of new components, negotiate with CM to resolve issues with component pricing
5.Providing detailed cost models to project card assembly cost take downs based on component pricing trends
6.Identifying cost savings opportunities and drive to implementation across Brand, Procurement, and Contract Manufacturer Requirements
1.BS in Electronics Engineering, no more than 18 month after university graduation.
2.Cost Management experience working with components of Manufacturing Value Add, assembly and test step timings
3.Cost Estimating/Modeling techniques
4.Communication and Negotiation skills, high fluency on spoken and written English
5.Understand supply chain concepts
6.Catia, Pro
-E, PICES/Costimator(could be trained), Spreadsheet (Excel or Lotus 1

7.Ability to work in detail oriented environment and produce error free work
