Context :
Because Linux Set Top Box market is growing especially for IPSTB, CPS Software & Solution is assigned to provide a STB Software solution over Linux including IP stacks and protocols coming from open source world.

Job description : Senior engineer

Inside CPS SW & Sol Linux team, the Embedded Linux Technical Leader will technically manage a team of SW engineers to integrate external bricks as browsers, IP protocols, access to VOD server and to provide a complete SW solution under Linux OS. To ensure robust and efficient SW deliveries, he/she will define the appropriate and good architecture, tools and test applications and coordinate with the Project Manager the according developments, tests and deliveries. He/She will technically responsible of these bricks in an embedded Linux context for Digital TV Receiver (STB) based on ST and relying on a proprietary SW solution. DVR features shall also be addressed in a second step.
The required person shall:
-analyse the customer and marketing/roadmap requirements in terms of sw architecture.
-contribute to definition of the Linux Embedded project in terms of workload & schedule. Analyse technical feasibility (bandwidth, CPU usage, critical resources allocations)
-design and implement the global Linux software architecture defined with the CPS Set Top Box System group
-manage the integration of STAPI 710X/(OS21)Linux deliveries
-track and report on a weekly basis the SW aspects to the Project Manager
-lead day to day technical follow up and assist project manager in team management.
-contribute to the definition of low level SW architecture for new products.

Required profile :
-digital TV / set top box domain (audio/video MPEG2/MPEG4, IP and terrestrial reception, DVB standards)
-low level embedded software/real time SW and system expertise, good HW and set top box micro controller architecture background.
-good knowledge of STAPI drivers architecture (especially ST710X), use of debugging tools for ST40 ICs mandatory.
-high Linux knowledge both on user and kernel space, understand common development practice on Linux.
-used to handle open source constraints
-unix shell, script languages, build/makefile tools
-clearcase configuration management tools, UCM, clearquest.
-good communication skills in both written and oral English
-chinese elements is a plus.
-used to work in international environment
-autonomy, open minded
-process minded, used to follow development cycles and CMM
-linux in embedded environment, homenetworking (wifi, UPnP/DLNA..) is mandatory.
-part of Linux developer community
-personal recorder management experience would be a plus
