Honeywell has an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Director who will effectively deliver the Contracts Management discipline across the Asia Pacific Automated Control Solutions (ACS), Honeywell Building Solutions (HBS) business. The ultimate goal will be to help the businesses achieve maximum performance and profitability through the implementation of well-defined contract management processes and procedures, and to maximise compliance with Honeywell contracts policy.

Your main areas of responsibility include:

Manage the AP ACS HBS Contracts Managers (direct reports). This includes annual goal setting, performance evaluation and pay reviews
Provide leadership, training and mentoring to the AP ACS HBS Contracts Managers
Review large contracts (》US $5 million) de novo for compliance with Honeywell contract policy
Direct the AP ACS HBS Contracts Managers to identify and minimize contractual issues and commercial risks
Direct the AP ACS HBS Contract Managers to implement risk assessment and contract management policies towards ensuring that risks are assessed on potential projects, managed on contracted projects and reported as directed by policy
Direct the AP ACS HBS Contracts Managers to review and draft contract documents for presentation to customers/suppliers
Liaise with Country General Managers to help build strong linkage between the sales and operations teams and legal/contracts team
Generate a monthly report of on key Contract Management issues and activities.
Assist in compliance with Honeywell’s business practices, Contract Management Guidelines and code of conduct
Assist the business to gain approval of contract documents and gain assistance with the resolution of legal issues
Work with AP ACS HBS Contracts Managers, Operations and Project Management, and liaise with Law Department where necessary, to help resolve contractual disputes
Provision of advice and opinion in contractual matters including recommendations for improvement and efficiencies in systems and documentation

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following attributes:

Solid understanding of contract law
Understanding of laws and regulations governing business practice in AP.
Strong Leadership skills
Understanding of financial concepts (cash flow, revenue recognition, etc) and impact of contract terms on those concepts
Outstanding ability to negotiate and represent HON’s best interests without being adversarial
High Commercial acumen
Excellent understanding of cultural diversity
Maturity/professional attitude
Ability to integrate contractual obligations with commercial/business needs
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Fastidious attention to detail
Ability to adapt to a cyclical work load

You will need to possess a Law degree or equivalent qualifications. MBA qualifications or other similar degree is highly regarded and some management training is highly advantageous. Previous experience in a role specialising in the field of contracts management ideally in an in-house commercial capacity is highly regarded.
