Bell Labs was bn on January 1, 1925 when AT&T merged with the Engineering Research Development Department of Western Electronic. Today, as the innovation arm of Lucent Technologies, it undertakes the task of providing high-tech f building up the most advanced communication systems in the wld.
Since its foundation, Bell Labs has put out me than 27,000 patents, with an average of four every day. In the 1920s 30s, researchers of Bell Labs introduced the wld long distance TV transmission digital computer, which promoted the development of sound movie artificial throat. Bell Labs Research China
On March 23, 2000, Bell Labs launched a new research facility in Beijing, China - Bell Labs Research China (BLRC). It was the first time in its histy that Bell Labs established a research labaty outside the United States.
BLRC is a center of technical excellence innovation to strengthen the suppt to Lucent business units customers in the China Asia Pacific region. Primarily, BLRC concentrates its effts on applications. It develops innovative ideas on applications, implements these ideas by prototypes, transfers these results to Lucent product houses Lucent Wldwide Services (LWS). While developing truly innovative applications, we also do fundamental research in the fields of Internet technologies, software, wireless communications, optical netwks, computer science, applied mathematics. To solve the problems we ener in applications, we go to fundamental research; backed by the fundamental research, we develop me powerful applications.
BLRC has built a close collabative relationship with Chinese scientific, technological educational communities. Meanwhile, the labaty is collabating with local Lucent branches, initiating collabations with industries universities in Australia New Zeal to create new business opptunities f Lucent.
Currently, BLRC has employed the researchers who are talents top universities in China. They devote themselves to the advancement of science technology make a great efft to establish themselves in the research community.
BLRC has fully committed itself to achieving its goal of establishing a center of technical excellence innovations to strengthen the suppt to Lucent business units customers in the China Asia Pacific region. Many research projects have been initiated completed in the fields of all-optical netwks, next generation Internet IPv6, wireless communications, interoperability testing of integrated communication software systems. Some research results are being transferred to Lucents business units f further product development, patent applications have been filed f the IP router testing software system, optical netwks management system some achievements on wireless communications. BLRC is also pioneering in the wk of system integration interoperability. Its IPv6 edge router research prototype with multi-services f Access Metro has been successfully implemented f the invention development of new IPv6 technologies. On April 23, 2001, BLRC joined Chinas Next Generation Internet as one of the first feign invested research institutions.
Since 2004, BLRC has concentrated on innovative application research. The four application-ientated projects have been developed quickly. Their prototypes were demonstrated at Application Day in Sept. 2004 in Murray Hill. Several BU product houses marketing teams are interested in these projects. We may also collabate with LWS to provide professional services on the basis of these projects. To suppt these projects, following the coming IMS architecture, we have ganized six functional teams wking on SIP/RTP, Multimedia, User Profile, Policy Suppt, Location Security. Such a structure makes a strong connection between applications fundamental research, provides a unifm platfm f all applications.
BLRC is closely collabating with the Chinese Universities. It has six joint research labaties with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, engaging in research on optical netwks, next generation Internet IPv6, wireless communications, software systems analysis design of netwks. In addition, BLRC jointly sponss the national key projects young scholars foundation projects with National Natural Science Foundation of China.

(3) Be familiar with SIP is a plus
(4) Knowledge of Web Service, JDO, CVS and MVC is a plus
(5) Experience with HTML browser/parser development is a plus.

Description: location-based application development on mobile devices
Requirements:
(1) Familiar with Symbian, J2ME, or Windows Mobile programming
(2) Project experience of programming with Symbian, J2ME or Windows Mobile
(3) (Optional) Experience with Linux is a plus
5. Routing Protocol Implementation for ASON: 1 intern Urgent!
Requirements:
(1) Familiar with ASON/GMPLS architecture
(2) Familiar and experience with OSPF-TE
(3) Experience with Linux, especially networking programming
(4) Experience with c/c++ programming
(5) Good ability in writing documents in English
(6) Familiar with DDRP is a PLUS
(7) Experience with RSVP-TE is a PLUS
6. Web service testing tools: 2 interns Urgent!
Requirements:
(1) Familiar with Java programming
(2) Familiar with Web Services
(3) Knowledge & experience on testing
7. WiFi Positioning system: 1 intern Urgent!
Requirements:
(1) Familiar with C/C++, MFC, .NET programming
(2) Familiar with Web Services
(3) Knowledge of Wireless LAN.
(4) Could develop under Linux is a plus.
8. Web Service & Web Service based Applications: 1 intern
Requirements:
(1) Master degree in computer science, Electronic Engineering or related areas
(2) 2~3 years experience in Java programming
(3) Familiar with Web Services (Axis, XFire or JAXWS etc.)
(4) Experience in network programming
(5) Knowledge in Parlay/Parlay X as a plus
(6) Good English skill
(7) Good teamwork and communication skill
9. IMS/IPTV Interactive Multimedia Application Research: 2 interns Urgent!
Requirements:
(1) One year project experience in Java SIP Servlet-based application
development is a must; or
(2) One year project experience in PHP/javaScript/HTML-based web application development is a must;
(3) Knowledge of IMS and IPTV is a plus;
10. Fixed/Mobile Converged Multimedia Application Research: 2 intern Urgent!
Requirements:
(1) One year project experience in Java SIP Servlet-based application development is a must; or
(2) Project experience in PHP/Javascript programming is a must
(3) Experience of Java Web Services and Axis2 is a plus
(4) Knowledge of video codecs(H.264/MPEG4) is a plus

Requirements:
(1) One year Visual C++ project experience using Visual Studio 2005 is a must
