Research Scientist-Gasification Analytical Chemist

Job Description:
Responsibilities
* Participate global gasification R&D programs to fill material characterization needs;
* Operate analytical equipments and perform analyses on coal gasification samples;
* Develop new test methods as required by NPI programs or customer services needs;
* Assist gasification services team in China with customer requests.

Qualifications
* Ph.D/MS in Chemistry or related discipline;
* 3+ years experience in performing laboratory analyses; experience with laboratory QC procedures and testing;
* Experience in gasification and/or refining and chemical plant technologies desired;
* Highly collaborative with strong communication skills;
* Experience in technical service client relationship role desired;
* Fluent English Verbal and Written Skills.

* Work closely with research scientists from multidisciplinary teams on programs ranging from long-term and exploratory research to applied research & development to serve many GE businesses
* Conduct coal conversion (gasification and poly-generation) research and process improvement with focus on inventing new technologies
* Communicate effectively with GE Global Research Center leadership, GE Energy business, external customers, and team members.
* Document results through patent applications, technical reports, presentations, and publications

Qualifications
* PhD/MS in Chemical Engineering /Thermal-engineering/Mechanical Engineering ;
