JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Tech Support Assistant will represent Network General and communicate with corporate customers via telephone, written correspondence, or electronic service in regard to finding solutions for customer service related issues or technically complex problems identified in Network General Software and Hardware products.
· Maintains strong working knowledge of pre-release products and take ownership for product improvement in key product areas. Initially, the Technical Support Assistant will be primarily focused background research tasks assigned by Support Engineer.
· Consistently consolidates and shares best practices with team members. Write complex technical articles and sample programs for knowledge base. Translates technical documents and articles across different languages.
· Responsible for efficiently managing the relationship with these customers and thoroughly documenting their cases and building customer profiles. Draws network diagram for customers network & IT infrastructure. Collaborates on cross-team and cross-product technical issues by working with resources from other groups as needed to resolve customer issues. Collaborates with Support Engineer and backline resources when appropriate. Uses trace analysis, and other diagnostic tools to analyze problems and develop solutions to meet customer needs.
· Sets up complicated testing environment for product reproduction, and occasionally prepares lab environment for partner support use.
MUST HAVE
· M.S. or Bachelor candidate.
· Good communication skills – spoken and written in Japanese (including technical writing)
· Good customer service skills and business sense
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Enthusiasm for the technology and customer advocacy is a must
· A self-starter needing low-level day-to-day management time to get the job accomplished.
· Strong logical thinking, problem solving, and crisis management
NICE TO HAVE
· Good background in Windows Server, Linux Server, Cisco routers, WAN & LAN technologies etc.
· Considerable amount of knowledge about computer network architecture protocols and services etc.
· Experience configuring, deploying, and designing Cisco switch/router environments
· Industry Standard Certification(s) (CCIE, CCNP, CISSP, MCSE, etc) will be a plus.
