Job Purpose: To assume general sales forecast and business analysis responsibility for several major customers and at least one major geographic sales area and is responsible for significant gross baseline revenue (approx. $250,000). Supervises full-time management level analyt(s) and produces comprehensive economic & industry reports and studies, supplies short & long term machine and parts sales forecasts, assesses event risks, provides forecasts for key world commodity prices and exchange rates and produces other studies as necessary.

Job Duties: Reporting directly to this position are one management and one hourly employee.

Develops an annual business plan for one major geographic area and several major division accounts that is consistent with the plan and objectives for the overall division. Negotiates customer service agreements and major project work with several external accounts and is responsible for tracking and maintaining high levels of work quality and high levels of customer satisfaction with respect to the assigned accounts and projects.

Responsible for periodic short and long term machine/sales parts forecasts. Assigns forecast responsibilities and supervises the activities of full-time management level analysts and contributes to the development of the strategic plan for the division.

Produces regular, comprehensive economic, industry and market segment studies and other studies and reports as necessary and makes presentations to senior management, regional managers, marketing managers, district managers, dealers and other business units.

Provides general management and leadership for the development of proprietary business economics advisory services, including proprietary techniques for modeling and forecasting machine and parts sales across geographic regions, major product groups and industry segments.

Develops and applies advanced applied statistical techniques (econometrics, ARIMA, turning point programs)

Negotiates contracts with external data and software vendors and audits the performance of these vendors.

Coordinates major studies and projects in conjunction with other Business Intelligence divisions.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

• Years of experience in modeling and evaluating business trends, cycles, economic conditions; conducting sales forecasts.
• M.A. degree with 5-7 years of related experience
• Or a Ph.D. with 1-2 years of related experience.
• knowledge of one or more major regional languages, and
• Or evidence of direct experience in the region.
