• Calibrate EMS to meet customers emissions, fuel economy, drivability, diagnostics and other performance criteria

• Create specifications for electronic test equipment to test Engine Control Units, Fuel Rails and Fuel Charging Assemblies

System Engineer

Job Description
Work with customers to define technical requirements (system configuration, ECU requirements, Control Requirements) for the application of Engine Management Systems (EMS) to customer vehicles
Capture systems requirements and Develop and maintain Systems requirement Documents (SRD) and Circuit Interface Requirement documents (CIR) for Engine Management System
Develop and Manage workplan with customers to meet program deliverables
Manage development of Engine Control Units (ECU) with ECU design engineers to meet customers performance, cost, quality and delivery requirements
Coordinate delivery of prototypes
Develop and release required customer drawings and specifications
Maintain open issues list with customer and lead development of action plans with customer and component design engineers to close all open issues
Lead development of system level Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Support key life test requirements for EMS systems and the ECU
Lead packaging of ECU onto applications to meet performance, environmental, EMC, durability and vibration requirements
Identify wiring requirements for EMS components and develop wiring connection diagrams
Lead system Technical Design Reviews (TDR)
Lead integration of EMS hardware onto development engines and vehicles
Design and conduct system validation tests (emissions, performance, EMC and durability), prepare system verification plans and reports
Provide Engine Management System acceptance criteria for engine and vehicle level testing and service diagnostics
Assist Customer in development of production process, acceptance criteria and test software related to the Engine Management system for the OEM's engine plants and vehicle assembly plants
Support development and validation of required service procedures and service tools
Support Customer's production launches
Lead Vehicle level issue resolution, including pre-production prototype, B&A plant, and launch support
System change control management
Diagnose Engine Management system issues
Track, analyze and lead corrective actions for warranty issues
Prepare EMS system proposals for pursuit of new business
Support the quoting of new business
Maintain Roadmap for future EMS system, control feature and ECU requirements
