SQA Engineer

Product
Symantec Critical System Protection (SCSP)
Components:
? Host Intrusion Prevention (IPS)
? Host Intrusion Detection (IDS)

Description
? The security contents in SCSP Policies are “the” heart of the product; therefore this position serves not only certifying the contents itself as high quality but also will play a critical role to keep the product as competitive in the market we are in.
? SCSP is a host based policy-driven product that supports numerous enterprise level servers including Windows and Unix operating systems. The good understanding of operating system internals and system administration skills are essential to this position.

Responsibilities
? To test IDS security policies in projects on product supported platforms.
? To test IPS security policies in projects on product supported platforms.

Requirements
? Platform experience in
Must have: Windows, Solaris, Linux
Nice to have: AIX, HP-UX, Tru64

? Must be able to install, configure, apply various patches, setup networking, and troubleshoot Windows and Unix operating systems. (IPS/IDS)
? Must have working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating system internals, system administration, and system security is a highly desired. (IPS/IDS)
? Demonstrated working knowledge of Windows Active Directory, Domain Controller, and Windows Security Policy is nice to have. (IDS)
? In depth knowledge of Windows system internals is highly desired. (IPS/IDS).
? Must be willing to analyze/learn present day security OS and application vulnerabilities. (IPS/IDS)

? Nice to have experiences or interests in working enterprise level setups such as clustering, failover, networking, etc.
? General knowledge of defect detection and prevention techniques is a nice to have.
? Prior experience with Perforce is nice to have.
? Must be a team player and a self-starter.
