Role Description:
Key Responsibilities/Areas of Accountability:
- Design Window Base software to interface with SQL database and field bus technology
- Software includes development for designing the database structure, communication layer, server/client interface layer and Web server.
- Create and document Functional Design Specifications, Experiment documentation and Test Plan documentation
- Document development, design changes and production design activities
- Troubleshoot and debug software and performance through Visual Studio Team System environment
- Strong communication skills in conjunction with teamwork, planning and organizational skills are essential
Requirements:
· Mandatory
o Strong proven programming skills in native C++ or C#
o Knowledge OO Design Patterns and Practices
o Experience in database design and SQL Query design
o Knowledge of network programming with sockets.
· Definite advantage
o Experience with ADAPTIVE Communication Environment (ACE) or similar frameworks
o Experience designing, debugging and deploying software in Microsoft Visual Studio
o Knowledge of Sybase/Java/Delphi
o Knowledge of XML
o Knowledge of UML
o Experience in
o Experience in using Test Driven Development (TDD) methodology
· Preferable
o Experience with IEC 61131
o Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT
o Experience in programming real-time control systems
o Strong knowledge of PC based control systems and embedded system
o Working knowledge of standard industrial communication protocols.
· University Degree in Engineering from an accredited post secondary institution or 2-5 years experience with a Diploma from a recognized technical institution.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
· 3-5 years hands-on experience in automated control system design and troubleshooting preferred
