Position: Interaction Designer (Intern)
Location: ATC Studios, Microsoft China Beijing

ATC Studios is a centralized design team that supports a wide range of projects within Microsoft’s Advanced Technology Center (ATC), from cutting-edge incubation work to the latest versions of established Microsoft products to genre-defying products for the China market.

ATC Studios is seeking an innovative and talented interaction design intern to conceptualize and create inspiring mobile experiences for both the global and China market. You will also have the opportunity to participate in other projects, including Microsoft Surface, other personal communication devices, emerging markets, education projects, games, and online services.

Are you interested in designing products for China and global market? Are you so inquisitive about the world and would like to do what others do? Are you a user advocate and would like to push user experience through the product life cycle? Do you like to work with other disciplines to solve the hardest problem in the world?

If the answers to the previous questions are yes, we have an opportunity for you to make a difference. ATC Studios is looking to add an interaction design intern to our team. You will work on a multidisciplinary team of artists, designers, programmers, and marketers to quickly try out new product ideas.

Responsibilities:
• Create user interface wireframes based on product requirement.
• Create high-fidelity and low-fidelity user interface design prototypes in HTML, Flash, or Director.
• Work with visual design team to define the look and feel of the interface.

Requirements:
• Bachelor or Masters Degree in Design or related area, or equivalent experience.
• Strong portfolio available for viewing.
• Strong creative, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent team work.
• Ability to build low-fidelity user interface design prototypes in HTML, Flash, or Director.
• Familiar with user experience process and methodologies.
• Great communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to set high level goals while simultaneously dedicated to executing daily deliverables.
• Experience with all major design, multimedia, and operating system software: Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, Visio, Windows, Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Fluent in either English or Mandarin.

Bonuses:
• Experience in Mobility fields a plus.
• Strong visual design ability.
