Software Application Engineer

Scope of Responsibility

Become familiar with the Insight ICS Software Suite, Insight DM and G fastening controllers and QE/QM range of tools.

· Audit customer site for network and server infrastructure

· Discuss and understand customer network and data archiving requirements

· Specify to customer or quote team network and server hardware and software components required to meet job requirements

· Review customer messaging requirements and communicate with software development team regarding implementation

· Install and configure SQL server software. Install and configure Insight ICS software

· Test network and database integrity and performance

· Identify defects, run diagnostics to capture characteristics, report defects and run trials on bug fix attempts

· Plan and deploy software upgrades at customer site

· Interface with the software developers in India and USA, interface with customer IT and production engineers

Skills and Experience Expected

University graduates in Computer Science
Microsoft or other formal certification in MS Windows Server 2003 Administration, MS-SQL server 2000 or 2005 programming and database administration, certification in TCP/IP, Ethernet Network configuration and administration
Must have excellent written and spoken English
