Position:    Regulatory Registration Specialist

Department:        Regulatory Affairs

Location:        Beijing 



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 



1.    Registrations of the GM crops for locally planting, especially for cotton and corn, including preparing dossiers, getting the relevant approvals/permits, organizing and monitoring the field trials, etc.

2.    Work closely with R&D, TD team to work out the regulatory strategies of the GM crops for planting.

3.    Establishing the good working relationships to MOA regulatory authority and the Chinese scientists.

4.    Coordinating the seed variety registrations and the trait commercialization, and making sure both the seed registration process and the trait approval are well coordinated in terms of regulatory process.

5.    Establishing Standard Operation Procedure in GM crop field trials and implementing those and the related regulations in the activities of the registrations and the field trails.

6.    Providing assistance to GM crop registration for import.





PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES:

1.    Excellent facility in English, both oral and written.

2.    MSc. or above in Biotechnology, nice to have Agronomy, Biosafety and Biodiversity background.

3.    Excellent ability to interact with and communicate with government officials.

4.    Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts in ways which are easily understood.

5.    Relationships & Networks: collaborating with people from other Monsanto groups to get work done; building and maintaining strong networks and relationships outside of Monsanto.

6.    Initiative & Foresight: taking the initiative to do what needs to be done without being asked; should be proactive.

7.    Results Orientation: completing all assigned tasks on-time with minimal oversight; effectively prioritizing, planning and executing the work.
