Position 2 : Test Engineer
Position Overview:
The Legal and Corporate Affairs IT organization is looking for highly-motivated Test Engineers to join our world-class testing organization in the MSIT-China. In this position, you will be responsible for 1) preparing and executing on testing approach, 2) reporting and following defects through to proper resolutions, 3) working collaboratively with the project and global teams - to deliver on-time, state-of-the-art business solutions with quality.
As an LCAIT Test Engineer in the MSIT-China, you will be tasked with understanding the functional and technical details of an application, and then determining the appropriate testing approach for the defined scope of work. For all projects, you will drive discovery of defects through multiple testing types – functional tests, database tests, documentation/technical reviews, security tests, performance tests, etc. You will strive for timely and accurate completion of testing milestones following defined processes. In the test engineer role, you must demonstrate collaborative teaming skills in a global environment, effective communication on project status/issues, and creativity in problem solving. Exhibiting keen enthusiasm for the testing discipline is a must!
Job Responsibilities and Deliverables:
• Own testing of assigned features and interfaces of application.

The Team:
The Enterprise Application Services (EAS) Integration Center of Excellence (ICOE) is a global team that provides expertise and enterprise infrastructure and services that enable Microsoft applications and business partners to electronically exchange data. The ICOE provides mission critical integration, transformation and transport services for a broad range of data such as:

• Healthcare
• Stock
• 401K
• Sales & Inventory Reporting

ICOE messaging processes over six (6) million documents per month that our hundreds of trading partners and internal application customers count on us to deliver. To accomplish this we leverage the latest technologies such as XML, AS2 and BizTalk Server along with tried and true technologies such as EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and VAN (Value Added Network).
ICOE enterprise data integration exposes critical business data through a publish/subscribe model, ensuring data integrity and radically reducing complexity.
ICOE plays a lead role in the management of SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) for Microsoft IT, exposing data via services and providing core infrastructure to enable evolution towards true service orientation.
The ICOE team works closely with the BizTalk product team as beta versions of BizTalk server transform and transport data in our production environment (a.k.a. dogfooding). The ICOE provides ongoing feedback to the product team to make the product more useful to the consumer. The ICOE is the only team that has sign-off on BizTalk product shipment.

Business purpose:
The Solutions Implementation (SI) team within the ICOE provides the technical expertise and project management required for building and supporting the enterprise messaging infrastructure (backend). The SI team is responsible for all standard on-boarding for new or modified feeds; standard refers to infrastructure that currently exists within the ICOE. The SI team designs, builds and delivers new tools to support our customers and our internal ICOE teams. The ICOE follows the MSIT SDLC (Software Delivery Life Cycle) and the SI team acts as SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) on this methodology. The SI team owns all translator (BizTalk, Gentran) migrations for the infrastructure which occur nearly year-round.
