ATC Studios is a centralized design team that supports a wide range of projects within Microsoft’s Advanced Technology Center (ATC), from cutting-edge incubation work to the latest versions of established Microsoft products to genre-defying products for the China market.

ATC Studios is seeking innovative and talented visual designers to conceptualize and create inspiring visual experiences for a diverse portfolio of projects, including Microsoft Surface, mobile phone and other personal communication devices, emerging markets, education projects, games, incubation and online services.

Primary responsibilities include working proactively with designers, usability engineers, researchers, program managers, and developers to create and implement effective experiences. The candidate must have the ability to be an effective advocate for the user and for the user experience. Responsibilities also include conceiving (creating user flow and wire-frames), prototyping and delivering concepts and detail design for products and features.

Successful candidates will work with the Art Director and their supervisor to create the visual user experience for Microsoft Mobile technologies. Responsibilities include conceptualization, design, and execution of the finalized look and feel.

In addition to being an exceptional visual designer, the successful candidate must be able to create a range of designs for each project, be self-motivated with a positive attitude, be a team player, and have clear English communication skills.
Required
Strong portfolio available for viewing
Proven record of creating world-class icons and graphic design
Excellent 2D/3D icon detailed design skills
Experience creating animated icons
Mastery of Photoshop and Illustrator
Experience with all major design, multimedia, and operating system software: Flash, Imageready, Dreamweaver, FrontPage, Windows, Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Will be nice to have experience on using Maya, 3DMax, DirectorFamiliar with visual design process
Strong creative, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
Must have the ability to work under constant deadline constraints
Ability to execute daily deliverables
Great communication and good presentation skills
Good English skills (comprehension, verbal and written)
At least 1 year industry experience in designing software or internet products
Bachelors degree in Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Industrial Design, Architecture or related area, or equivalent experience
