Background on the Position:
Corporate Social Responsibility refers to a company’s business
policies and practices used to ensure that labor, health & safety,
environmental and ethical practices all comply with local laws
and relevant international standards. Throughout Sun’s history,
Sun has implemented programs and practices that reflect the
company’s long-held values to treat employees and others
impacted by Sun’s business with dignity and respect while
ensuring their health and safety. In addition to Sun’s is
commitment to protect their employees, Sun is also
committed to meeting the needs of the global community as well.
This position will focus on extending Sun’s commitment beyond
its direct employees to ensure that people working around the
world to manufacture Sun’s products are treated in accordance
with local laws and international standards. The person in this
position will work to ensure that products and services manufactured
for Sun by Sun’s Suppliers are manufactured in a way that promotes
fair and legal labor, environmental and ethical practices,
while protecting the health and safety of the employees.
The program at Sun that manages the labor, ethical,
environmental and health & safety requirements for
Suppliers is called Supply Chain Corporate Social
Responsibility. This position will support Sun’s Supply
Chain Social Responsibility program to ensure that Sun’s
Suppliers are conducting business responsibly.
The primary focus for this position will be labor and ethical practices.
The candidate must have a strong interest and belief in
conducting business in a responsible way.
Job Description:
(1)Essential Functions :
Ensure supplier compliance and adherence to Sun’s Code of
Conduct by tracking audit report status
Capture the information on the current regulations,
future trends and changes to regulations in Asia, especially in China
Data maintenance (Manage audit evidence, reports and related documents, etc)
Support CSR team in developing/driving the closure of
supplier corrective actions
Perform responsibilities as directed within determined
time frames and with a high degree of accuracy.
Maintain the professional competence, knowledge
and skills necessary to effectively complete responsibilities.
Miscellaneous clerical duties (Assist in scheduling audits, meetings, travel arrangements)
Assist in Supplier audits
(2) Preferred Knowledge: Presentation skills
Must have good English communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal) Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
(3)Qualifications : Class of 2007 or 2008, Major in Law, especially Labor Law
Limited travel to southern China manufacturing sites if necessary
