Oracle - Telecom Solution Engineer
Department description: Oracle Applications Product Group (APG) focus on product development, solution development based on Oracle Applications products such as E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft Enterprise, Siebel CRM, JDE, i-flex etc. We work closely with Oracle Headquarter, APAC and India Development Center to develop new products, APAC localizations and industry solutions in Finance, HRMS, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) areas.
Brief Position Description: As a solution engineer, you are a key player in our system integration and consulting services working on large complex transformation projects/ programmes. You define solutions that leverage Oracle packaged telecom products including Billing & Revenue Management (BRM, Portal-Billing), Operational Systems Support (Metasolv) and Siebel"out-of-the-box" to fulfill client requirements in a highly complex environment.
KEY OBJECTIVE
Be responsible for implementing technical solutions that fully utilize portfolio of Oracle telecom products.
Understand and apply the technical components of Oracle telecom products solutions to address specific customer requirements and will have a thorough understanding of the capabilities and benefits of the solution.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Participate in project teams to design, develop and implement the designed customer/industry solution.
2. Identify and quantify the customers’ technical and business needs and the value of addressing those needs.
3. Customize and configure one or more of Oracle telecom products based on design specification.
4. Map Oracle telecom capabilities to the customer needs and build consensus around the technical solution required generating both new and additional services bookings.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE and TRAINING
1. Preferred Qualifications: BS or MS degree.
2. Good understanding of the Telco industry-specific business requirements, competitive environment and directions, and the effective application of information technology in that industry.
3. 3+ years software implementation experience, including installation, implementation, coding and testing.
4. Understanding of modern enterprise application platform technologies; Distributed computing (Corba, EJB, SOAP), Operating Systems (Unix, Windows AIX), RDBMS (Oracle, MS, DB2), Applications (Siebel, Oracle financials, SAP), Hardware Configuration (Memory, Storage, Resilience, Recovery)
5. Good oral and written communication skills in English and Mandarin.
6. A team player can work well in a challengeable and highly collaborative environment.
7. Highly self motivated.
8. Exhibits well project management and time management skills.
9. 2+ technical background in one of the following areas:
l BRM (Portal)
v Must be familiar with one or more of the components: customer center &pricing center.
v Familiar with basic OPCODES
l Metasolv
v Detailed understanding of some of the technologies used in the telecoms industry: IP, MPLS, VoIP, POTS, ATM, FR and Wireless (inc 3G),
v Experience with software systems and architectures often used by telecommunications operators (Oracle (MetaSolv), Telcordia, Tertio, Amdocs, Cramer, TeMIP, Vitria, TibCo??K)
l Siebel
v Solid experience in the implementation, development, testing and support of package applications with significant experience in Siebel implementations.
v Deep knowledge of Siebel data model and data modelling principles in general.
v Must have an appropriate depth of knowledge of the Siebel 7.x eBusiness suite.
v Must have a competency in understanding how the Siebel Architecture can best be implemented to support the solution.
v Experience in translating customer requirements into Siebel solutions taking into consideration Siebel standard functionality and product & processes best practices.
v Good working knowledge of Siebel product streams such as Call Centre, Sales Service, Order Capture, Marketing, Analytics etc.
