Conceptual development of new products. Identify opportunities for new products. Develop products based on input from organization. Design and develop new products. Manage development projects in all phases of development from concept through launch. Define new product requirements. Direct and coordinate resources (prototype fabrication, testing, compliance, CAD, CAE, application requirements, marketing) to develop new products. Small portion of time to include maintenance of existing product lines. |

· Must possess 3-10 years experience as a practicing design engineer (inclusive of any relevant co-op experience), with evidence of working independently. · Knowledge and experience in the construction industry · Must possess product design/development experience. · Must possess project management experience in all phases of product development. · Identifying and developing new products. |

· BS in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university. MSME is preferred |

SKILLS (Requirements, i.e., Project Management, PC Skills, Management) |

· Computer literacy in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint or equivalent. · Performing Design of Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA). · Strong knowledge/background of materials. · Must possess competent analytical skills. · Excellent oral and written communication skills. · Must possess the demonstrated ability to manage projects/priorities. · Must be capable of interacting with vendors and customers. · Strong knowledge of design for manufacturability. · Knowledge of the building construction industry. |

OTHER SKILLS PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES (Preferred, but not required skills) |

· Finite element analysis (FEA) experience for structural and thermal applications (CosmosWorks preferred). · Hands-on practical skill as demonstrated by work experience or hobbies. · Prototype fabrication experience. Basic machining and welding skills. · Experience with MS Project desirable. · Statistical design skills including Six Sigma, Design of Experiments, Robust Engineering, etc. · Solid modeling experience in SolidWorks or equivalent. |
H. TRAVEL REQUIRED/OTHER SPECIAL FACTORS:
Possible travel to customers and suppliers to gain information on possible applications |
and to tradeshows to support marketing and to job sites. |
