Job Description
Provide frontline support in a global helpdesk environment that receives 35K+ cases per month to intern al Cisco clients. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Determining problem and resolution to issues on IS-standard PC units, Unix and associated hw/sw,
– Providing password administration on NT server domains and Unix environments,
– Resolving remote access issues, printing issues, and network connectivity issues
– Providing frontline application support to designated Cisco IT applications.
– Answer questions regarding following desktop applications: Windows 2000/XP/Vista MS Office suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), Mozilla Firefox, Eudora, and Meeting Maker.
Required Skills
Requires a BS degree in Business, MIS, Computer Science, etc.
Knowledge of Sun Solaris (SPARC) OS and Red Hat Linux
Level2 support in Linux and Solaris
Kickstart, Jumpstart, network configuration & troubleshooting
Knowledge of YP, NIS+, Autofs, NFS,Sudo, Netgroups, DNS, user and group management, RCS,CVS.
Knowledge of NetApp filers , Vi Editor,Evolution in Linux.

Must speak and write English fluently
Must work effectively in a team environment
Must have very good verbal and written communication skills
Must have good organizational skills
Must have excellent customer service and telephone skills
Must be able to multi-task and follow-through on outstanding issues
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment; able to adapt to sudden change
Must be able to quickly identify and resolve complex problems under time constraints
Must be flexible in work hours; some weekend or evening work may be required.
Must be able to work under minimal supervision
Preferred Skills
Working knowledge of Windows environment, Microsoft Office suite
Understanding of production systems administration
Understanding of a server-based operating system and tools
Shell scripting
NIS +
NFS
Automounter
Working knowledge of electronic email communications systems
Fundamentals of networking and remote access
Helpdesk experience is a definite plus
