Job Title:  Global Sourcing Quality Engineer Assistant

Location: Asia Pacific Center (Shanghai)

 

GENERAL SUMMARY

This position is responsible for global supplier quality and delivery.

.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Conduct supplier technical audit. Assure supplier and product technical capability through approval of Manufacturing Control Plan, Product and Process Quality Plan, product quality reviews, verification of quality documentation, monitoring of compliance, and closure of corrective actions.

• Lead First Article qualification and verification process until product is released for production. Ensure production quality consistency and reduce variance in processes.

• Perform quality inspection. Conduct root cause analysis and preventive and corrective action as required.

• Participate in supplier design/engineering review & approval process and internal NPI process. Work with Product Development to determine product specifications and details on cost and quality related choices for product components and production techniques. Translate technical new product engineering requirements into specifications for supplier selection.

• Work closely with site purchasing team, Product Engineering, Commodity Leaders, Buyers, and Project Management team on all activity required to effectively support sourcing quality requirements across product lines.

• Conduct initiate supplier process audit. Provide audit scores, result, recommendation and feedback to site purchase team and commodity manager.

• Lead process improvement effort to drive process quality improvements. Leverage statistical tools for evaluation of process capability on critical-to-quality parameters through regular supplier process and ISO audits.

• Address cost of quality reduction based on customer, assembly shop and site feedback and incorporate key Customer critical-to-quality parameters in supplier processes.

• Any jobs assigned by Sr. SQE.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree in Material Forming/ Shaping/ Casting or Mechanical Engineering / Casting / Forging/ Machining or related field

Required

Auto CAD / Solid Work experience is preferred.

Language Skills

Must be fluent in spoken and written English.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires frequent traveling.
