Holcim, one of the world’s largest suppliers of cement, aggregates, ready-mix concrete and asphalt, is looking for an
IT Intern
to spend two to three days per week in our office to assist us with end-user IT support. Specifically, we are looking for someone who is good at
- Assisting users in overcoming common OS and desktop software application issues
- Resolving hardware-, printing-, and network-connectivity-issues
- Backing up, installing and (re-)configuring PCs/laptops from scratch
- Staying current on technical innovations, specifically Microsoft products
- Training his/her colleagues on PC and IT usage
- Maintaining inventory of hardware supplies
- Tracking software deployment and license usage
The ideal candidate has
- A solid command of English and Chinese, both spoken and written
- Preferably a bachelor’s degree (does not have to be in IT) or equivalent
- At least six years of end-user experience with a focus on the following products: Windows XP, Microsoft Office 2003/2007, Antivirus and similar utilities (knowledge of Lotus Notes, server administration, backup and network topology would be advantageous)
- A passion for detail, a warm and confident personality, the ability to work under pressure and willingness to integrate into an existing team
- Ability to take on new challenges, be self-motivated and to manage his/her own time
- Effective training skills

with two Word files attached. One should be a current CV, the other one a document describing your motivation to work for an international company. Both files will be closely examined for content (incl. spelling, grammar, and structure) and IT proficiency (incl. layout, design, and style elements).
2) Upon successful completion of phase one, you will be asked to participate in a short twenty-question general IT knowledge test via email.
3) In the final phase we will conduct interviews with those candidates who have successfully completed phase two. We can’t wait to meet you!
