Work closely with research scientists and engineers from multidisciplinary teams on programs ranging from long-term and exploratory research to applied research & development to serve many GE businesses. * Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, has experience in turbomachinary aerodynamics.
* Significant expertise with turbomachinery including gas and steam turbines, and compressors.
* In-depth understanding of turbomachinery aerodynamics through experiments, analytical methods and computational fluid dynamics.
* Hands-on lab experience in experimental aspects of turbomachinery including designing hardware, using instrumentation, executing experiments, and reducing data.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Turbomachinery Aerodynamics Design and Analysis, serve as an expert in the field of turbomachinery aerodynamics and design, participating in development of state-of-the art turbomachinery in close collaboration with the GE Infrastructure businesses: Aviation, Energy, and Oil & Gas. In addition, assist in defining programs, leading to improved design of turbomachinery, and occasionally participate in resolution of design challenges. Work closely with research scientists from multidisciplinary teams on programs ranging from fundamental to applied research to serve our customers and GE businesses
DESIRED:
* Engineering design experience with, land-based gas and steam turbines, or compressors.
* Significant experience with application of state-of-the-art, large-scale CFD codes and supporting methodologies (eg. CFX, Fluent)
* Specific experience advanced fluid mechanics experimental and analytical methods including: aero acoustics, aerodynamics, and flow control.
* Experience with CAD tools including UG and ICEMCFD (or other geometric modeling/grid generation software).
