(1) Linux Kernel Software Test Engineer
===================================
responsibilities:
-----------------
* design & implementation of new tests in cooperation with SUSE labs engineers, we are looking for experts in the areas of
- memory management
- network
- file systems
- storage I/O
- other core subsystems
* ongoing assessment of existing tests that are available upstream & in-house
* close relationship to the kernel community and other technology partners
(working together with IBM, HP, Dell, ...)
* results documentation & results analysis
qualification:
--------------
* broad knowledge about the Linux kernel
* good programming skills in C
* basic skills in scripting/interpreter languages
* basic understanding of debugging methods (gdb, kdump, ...)
Organisational:
---------------
the position is opened in the Quality Assurance department, you will be
reporting to the corresponding Engineering Manager.

(2) Automation Software Engineer
============================
responsibilities:

* automation of tests for linux core components
- services (http, ftp, nfs, dns, ssh, ntp, ...)
- core tools (bzip2, grep, rpm, cron, gpg, ...)
* packaging of existing test suites
* leveraging upstream communities
qualification:
--------------
* knowledge of linux scripting languages
* basic understanding of Software Testing
* broad understanding of Linux and OpenSource
