Job description for Next-generation Runtime SW Engineers:

Responsibilities
In this position, you will be working on developing and improving the core run time functions and algorithms based on current and future Intel architecture platforms. The work will require interactions with internal and external partners, such as the CPU Architecture teams and the Open Source community. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Developing leading runtime technology such as just-in-time compilation, garbage collection, thread scheduling, and others for next generation runtime systems such as virtual machines, scripting engines, and others
- Responsible for the advanced algorithm design, performance and power tuning, software product releasing and others for current and future Intel® platforms
- Collaborating with colleagues from multiple sites and different countries
- Interacting with external partners on open source projects

Qualifications
You should possess a Master of Science degree or a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and years of working experience. Additional qualifications include:
- Development and optimization of just-in-time compilation techniques as well as virtual machine internal functions such as garbage collection, threading, memory management, synchronization and others
- Knowledge of static and Just-in-Time optimizing compilers, operating system internals, virtual machine functions such as garbage collection, multi-threading, and new computer architectures would be an added advantage
- Extensive experience in C and/or C++, extensive development experience and knowledge of Windows* or Linux* internals, good understanding in modern computer architectures and microarchitectures.

Job description of MID runtime engineers:

Qualifications
You should possess a Bachelor or a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and a minimum of three to five years of experience, or a Ph.D. and two to three years of experience. Additional qualifications include:
- Strong leadership skills, good relationship management, communication, negotiation and conflict management skills
- Ability to work in the code, optimizing it for IA, as well as work with external partners
- Excellent software development skills in Java* or C/C++ programming on the Windows or Linux operating systems and detailed knowledge of programming language specifications
- Excellent knowledge of virtual machine technology and internals, including knowledge of bytecodes, class loaders, JIT compilers and memory management and garbage collection technologies
- A strong understanding of computer architectures and familiarity with microprocessor architectures would be an added advantage
- Knowledge of graphical user interfaces, including OpenGL*, framebuffer manipulation and X11 would be an added advantage
- Previous experience with PacketVideo and WebKit knowledge would be an added advantage
- Good analytical and problem solving skills would be an added advantage

Responsibilities
The SSG System Software Division has openings for software developers to work on Runtime Environment technologies for mobile internet devices. We are looking for senior engineers to provide technical leadership in a project which will develop a full mobile software stack. In this position, you will be developing the full mobile software stack, enabling the mobile stack on Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) based on Intel® Architecture (IA), and analyzing and implementing opportunities for performance tuning, optimization and differentiation.
