Our main operating divisions are:. 

Hospital sterilisation: providing decontamination and sterilisation services for surgical instruments to acute and primary healthcare providers through a network of clean room facilities.  As a leading provider of these services the business is expanding rapidly with facilities in the United Kingdom and Holland, together with new facilities in development in Belgium, the Emirates and China. 

Patient Care:  provides infection control services including the provision of a wide range of products that are used to help manage healthcare environments such as hand hygiene, air sterilisation and other decontamination products.  In addition this division is the leading provider of hospital linen management services in the United Kingdom and Holland.  The business is aggressively expanding throughout the world.

Medical Device Sterilisation:  the leading provider of sterilisation services for single use medical device manufacturers.  The division uses a number of technologies to sterilise medical devices including gamma irradiation, ebeam and ethylene oxide.  In addition to sterilisation services for medical device manufacturers this division works with pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic and packaging customers from facilities in ten countries.

Pathology and Toxicology Services: one of the newest and fastest growing businesses providing pathology, toxicology, microbiology and occupational services to healthcare providers and large businesses.   Operating from laboratories in England and Holland, the business has ambitions to expand across Europe.

Investment in China

Synergy is expanding its business in China to support the Government’s objective to invest in healthcare infrastructure.  Our initial investment is in Suzhou, where we are investing 200m RMB to create a state of the art hospital and medical device sterilisation facility.  This initial investment will be followed by further new facilities throughout China over the coming years as we assist hospitals with meeting the new healthcare objectives.

Graduate Development Programme

Synergy Healthcare is establishing a graduate development programme to recruit future leaders of our businesses here in China.  Our development programme will provide a framework that will enable you to learn a broad range of skills in management, quality, information technology and sterilisation services to prepare you for a successful career within Synergy Healthcare.

The programme itself lasts for 1-2 years, with placements throughout the company providing you with a solid grounding in our overall business. The programme is designed to develop crucial technical, commercial and interpersonal skills. You’ll enjoy the support of a mentor who will be working alongside you, providing you with regular feedback.

Upon completing the programme you will return to China where you will be offered a management position within our sterilisation businesses.

About you

You are expected to have a first class university degree preferably in sciences, engineering or business studies.  You should already have well-developed problem solving and analytical skills, but most important is your ability to apply these skills in a variety of business contexts.  You will have a flexible attitude to learning and be able to work well as part of a team and independently.  The working language within Synergy Healthcare is English, and good written and verbal skills are essential.

 

We are also looking for our graduate recruitment candidates to have abilities to:

• explain complex concepts to staff of various ability levels.

• assimilate complex concepts rapidly to place them in a framework and to deal with incomplete data.

• work under pressure of work deadlines.

• organise personal time productively

• engage positively with colleagues, technical specialists and customers and to contribute through meetings and other opportunities for discussion.

• provide clear, concise reports in verbal and written form summarising key issues.

• recognise commercial opportunity

• use common IT packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Lotus Notes

The Programme

The graduate programme will operate in England beginning on the [1st of September] 2008.  Successful candidates will be provided with a Chinese Employment contract with Synergy Healthcare (Suzhou) Sterilisation Co Ltd which will include additional financial support for the period of training in England including airfares and a living allowance.

The development programme will consist of a placement in up to four departments within the first 12 months whilst the remaining 12 months will be in a role similar to the role the candidate will be expected to assume in China.  The candidates will be consulted on their areas of interest and select from Commercial, Accounting, Quality, IT Systems, Software Development, Project Management, Surgical Sterilisation Operations and Medical Device Operations. In addition structured, class based training will be provided for essential skills and a mentor will be provided in each department.
