Job Title: LiveCycle Lead Development Engineer (Project: LiveCycle)
Position Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to do software development on Adobe’s enterprise product line, LiveCycle at Adobe China R&D ! Be one of the first development engineers in a new group that is forming. You, a Lead Java developer, will
own development for features of medium to large complexity, from turning requirements into architectural and feature specifications, to design and writing code that is reliable, maintainable, performance optimized, secure and world-ready. You will be an early member of a new team that transitions ownership of a LiveCycle component from NorthAmerica engineering teams to Adobe China R&D. You need to be highly motivated, with excellent ability to research and learn new technologies quickly. Good verbal as well as written English communications are essential.
Responsibilities
• Understanding customer requirements, writing specifications for software features to meet those requirements and estimates schedules with minimal to no supervision
• Assessing risks for predictable outcomes of deliverables.
• Developing code to implement requirements that is reliable, maintainable, performance optimized, secure and world-ready.
• Creating unit tests and test collateral to prove that new features work
• Working closely with and integrating components from other Adobe development teams.
• Maintain and improve quality of existing code base.
• Assisting the Customer Support team in resolving complex customer issues when needed.
• Handing-off features to the Quality Engineering team and providing any assistance they require to successfully test the feature.
Education / Experience / Skills
• BS in Computer Science or similar study. (Advanced degree a plus)
• 5+ years of development experience, including 4+ years using Java/J2EE.
• Experience with related technologies (JDBC, JMS, FTP, Web Services/SOAP/WSDL, XML, XLST, DOM)
• Understanding of SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) concepts
• Application Server Knowledge: WebLogic, Websphere, JBoss
• DB Knowledge: Oracle, DB2, MSSQL, MySQL
• Experience with Eclipse
• Ability to research and learn new technologies quickly
• Ability to work with global teams
• Proven track record of on-time delivery of software development assignments.
• Good English communications skills
Highly desirable experience includes
Exposure to a wide range of J2SE, J2EE and third party APIs
Previous exposure to Workflow Systems
PDF Knowledge
Eclipse plugins or extensions
Rich client applications using Flex or Flash
UI Design skills/Swing
Exposure to both Java and Windows IDEs
Web application experience including html/javascript/jsp
Job Title: Black Box Quality Engineer of Core Tech (Project: Core Tech)
Position Summary
As a member of the CoreTech QE team, youll be performing black box testing of Adobe CoreTech libraries. You will be responsible for testing these libraries in Adobe applications such as Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Flash. The position involves working in a small, focused engineering team consisting of senior developers, black-box, and white-box quality engineers. The candidate will also work with other Core Technology component QE teams using consistent QE best practices.
In addition, responsibilities include communicating risk based on technical knowledge and experience.
Testing Responsibilities
• Test Plan development
• Test case identification and development
• Weekly and daily testing prior to release to application teams
• Testing the libraries to support specific features requested by the application teams
• Regression/investigation of defects logged by application QE teams
Qualifications
BSCS + 3-5 years of QE experience is required.
Knowledge of Windows, Macintosh, and Unix operating systems
Ability to acquire technical knowledge quickly
Knowledge of scripting languages such as PERL, Python, Visual Basic, and ActionScript
Working knowledge of Adobe applications
Knowledge of other graphics applications, PDF, and Postscript workflows.
Font technologies knowledge a plus
C++ Programming experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
