Prime Minister Global Fellowship Program Coordinator Assistant

The Prime Minister’s Global Fellowship (PMGF) is a high-profile Gordon Brown initiated programme aiming to develop the British young people’s global understanding, talent and enterprise through meaningful opportunities to engage effectively with other cultures and business environments. By enabling talented young people to gain first hand experience of the scale and speed of the transformation of the economies in China, India and Brazil, the scheme aims to create a better understanding of what it takes to sustain economic growth and competitiveness and the skills needed to compete for jobs in a global labour market.

This year, 40 fellows will come to Shanghai to complete their six-week fellowship including:

·       Two weeks induction in the country’s language, culture and business environment

·       Two weeks placement in a local school where the Fellow will witness a different education system and contribute to the school, possibly through providing English language conversation classes

·       Two weeks placement as the guest of a British global company, with an introduction to their operations in that country and a chance to be mentored by an employee

We are here inviting you to work with the Program Coordinator to implement the project. 

Job Description: 

1.      On-site facilitator for Program Coordinator in liaison and event implementation;

2.      24-hour emergency call contactor;    

3.      Help in organizing after-work and weekend activities;

4.      Give support and advice when fellows feel home-sick, have their computer broken, etc.  

Time:

July 18th Fri – Sept 1st Mon, 2008    

You need to be accommodated at the hotel in the downtown Shanghai  together with the fellows throughout the whole 46 days.

Remuneration:

We provide a package of RMB6000 for this position, , plus reimbursement of business-related communications and transportation expenses. 

Qualifications:

1.      Proficient in English (not for ELAs)

2.      Self-motivated and hard-working

3.      Strong sense of responsibility

4.      Honest and upright

Note:

1.      Students in your fourth year of undergraduate study or first/second year postgraduate are preferred. (not for ELAs)

2.      You must be available throughout the whole program. The consistency of your work is very important to the program.
