Job description:
Inside VPS TVS team, the Software Integrator Engineer will work within a team of SW engineers to integrate new features (PVR, Flash Player) and external bricks as browsers, IP protocols, VOD server and to provide a complete SW solution under different OS and platform.
To ensure robust and efficient SW deliveries, he/she will define, develop and run some test applications. He/She will integrate these bricks in a complete system software stack which works on Digital TV Receiver on different OS and Platform.
The required person shall:
- In the course of the development phase, integrate regularly the bricks or modules coming from the SW team.
- Participate in the code and document review regularly
- Design, develop, document and run test suite applications to test the integrated bricks or interfaces.
- Provide a first analysis of the defects to the SW engineers during integration phases.
- Participate to the interface definition and design.
- Provide and follow tools allowing to keep robust the complete SW in order to reach the expected level of performances and robustness.
- Follow up the development plan coming from Project manager in order to deliver the completed SW and its according documentation

Context:
Because Linux Set Top Box market is growing especially for IPSTB, VPS TVS is assigned to provide a STB Software solution over Linux including IP stacks and protocols coming from open source world.

Job description:
Inside VPS Linux team, the Embedded Linux Developer will work within a team of engineers to integrate external bricks as browsers, IP protocols and access to VOD server. These bricks are developed internally or could come from open source world. This team will integrate, modify and enhance these bricks in an embedded Linux context for Digital TV Receiver (STB) based on ST and relying on a proprietary SW solution in order to provide a complete product. DVR features shall also be addressed in a second step.

The required person shall:
- Design, develop, test and document the SW bricks he has to integrate in the product and support new features and capabilities.
- Analyze and resolve user space problems found during integration,
- Interface clearly with Linux kernel space, optimize and keep robust the user space level in order to reach the expected performances and robustness especially in term of bandwidth, CPU usage, critical resources allocations and IP injection.
- Follow up the Architecture choice coming from Linux team technical leader,
- Track and report on a weekly basis to the Linux Project Manager.

More and more STB customers require Remote Management protocols in order to manage their devices and to decrease their after sale supports. Inside CPS, the software engineer will be completely involved into a team already in place and will contribute to develop and integrate new IP protocols (as extend TR069, SNMP, http stacks) within an already deployed software.
Activities will mainly include development of STB device side software of IP network management.

Job description:
