–        Strong analysis/troubleshooting skills are required;

–        Strong reporting skills is required (Need to forecast/follow-up/report issues frequently; Need to manage a product and timely monitor the quality performance and report to management team frequently);

–        Meeting organizing skill and project management skill is preferred;

Position Description: As a hardware (HW) CPE engineer, you will be part of an exciting start up team developing, testing, and delivering products for Hewlett-Packard’s world-renowned LaserJet brand.  You duties will be to serve as the single point of contact for managing any product quality issue related to HW mechanical systems.  You will coordinate the activities of other HW engineers to resolve HW issues quickly.  You will be responsible for communicating to our suppliers and managing these relationships.  Strong English communication and leadership skills are required.

 

Location: Shanghai, China

 

Responsibilities:

 

•         Set priorities for engineers and suppliers

•         Written, verbal communication of top issues to management

•         Technical expert on the design and operation of the printers. 

•         Thorough understanding of the mechanical operation of the printer, and all issues found during the development process.

•         Serve as technical lead on major quality issues at introduction or those preventing production or shipment.

•         Transition all products from R&D to CPE as well as supporting the continuous improvement activities on the current released products.

•         Integrate any special sales requirements into normal CPE work as required.

•         Provide leadership on quality, processes.

•         Ensure strong relationships with R&D are in place and engage R&D at the appropriate time in the lifecycle.

 

 

 

Qualifications

Education:

B.S. or M.S. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

 

Required Experience Includes:

•         Demonstrated strong understanding of product delivery lifecycles including plan development for areas related to QC Builds, Beta / Delta Programs, and Mass-Trial and Production ramps.

•         Demonstrated project management and leadership skills.

•         Demonstrated experience with producing regular and timely product reports showing product concerns, resolutions, periodic partner evaluations, product field evaluations.

•         Proven track record for timely response to all vendor communications, regular DDT updates, face-to-face interactions, VC networking, reaction & recovery matrix, frequent and cooperative interaction with product development labs (R&D).

•         Demonstrated passion for knowing the customer, customer issues, and areas for continuous improvement to customer’s list of dissatisfactions.

•         2+ years applicable experience.

 

Desired (any or all):

•         5+ years applicable experience.

•         Master’s Degree in EE or ME fields.

•         Demonstrated experience in supporting R&D organizations.

•         Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining strong OEM relationships via myriad different ways that might include frequent monitoring of Warranty management and other databases.

•         Experience monitoring product performance and proactively identify opportunities for improving reliability.

•         Experience in working closely with HW warranty analyst and teams setting warranty goals.  Experience in working with finance teams on all aspects of Current Product Engineering financial impacts to overall product financials.
