应用工程师

Position Description

Day to Day Responsibilities:
Define and deliver today’s product
• Develop and document thorough understanding of customers’ processes from a product, design development and manufacturing perspective.
• Lead the promotion of company’s technology advantages and capabilities
- Prioritize these advantages according to customer requirements and concerns.
• Propose customer specifications to World Wide Product Engineer
• Negotiate and close specs with customer (in close coordination with PL strategy)
• Conduct customer specification reviews
• Lead the customer qualification process
• Manage product modifications and/or redesigns per customer spec changes
• Maintain specification files
• Present customer issues at regional account/engineering reviews.
Solve customer’s technical problems
• Establish engineering support processes and develop clear communication channels between company and assigned customers
• Identify and define issues and their causes.
• Deliver solutions to resolve issues
- Evaluate alternatives. Balance customer requests with product strategy
- Select best option and define action steps.
- Execute and monitor recovery actions until closure with desired results.
• Research customer return issues for approval of RMAs
• Resolve/clarify disposition of returns for manufacturing/quality action
• Establish strong linkage to Supply Chain, Sample Management, Business Development and Product Line Management.
• Coordinate customer quality/technical audit of company
Define and deliver future opportunities
• Identify potential opportunities & risks with customer product & process migration
• Lead process for Value Engineering & cost reduction initiatives at customer
• Design and facilitate technical presentations on substrate properties, product & process innovations and technology projects.
• Participate regional roadmap process
- Understand 5-year technology and product roadmap with customers and how our roadmaps integrate to gain customer design-wins.
- Effectively communicate / review roadmaps internally with subject matter experts
Other significant responsibilities
• Act as key liaison between Chengdu regional office and Beijing Plant & WW functions
• Deploy process for communicating regional information to Division
• Develop strong communication network internal to China commercial team & manufacturing facilities Network across all key positions that work to support customers

Knowledge/Skills
• Knowledge
- Sound knowledge of LCD industry or semiconductor industry
- Extensive knowledge of customers’ manufacturing processes and glass properties and how they interact
- Understands and protects supplier and product value
- Good understanding of Quality Assurance.
- Experience with Asian, especially the Chinese business culture.
- Good understanding in PC/ TV market
- Business acumen.
• Skills
- Ability to envision technical market trends and build appropriate roadmaps
- Ability to interact effectively with customers, and other industry leaders and represent company on technical issues
- Ability to interact effectively with internal groups to assure programs is in place so products meet customers’ evolving technical requirements
- Ability to network throughout TFT-LCD value chain
- Ability to set actions and follow through with a sense of urgency.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office package. Including (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database management)
- Ability to work and communicate across varied Asian cultures
- Fluent in English and Chinese. Korean is a plus.


Education
Bachelor in semiconductor, electronics, chemistry, precision instruments, mechanical engineering, material sciences or glass science, optics, physics.
Master degree is a plus.

Experience
2-3 years of high-tech, OEM, or materials AE experience desired. At least 2 years working experiences, Semiconductor industries experience is desired, LCD is a plus; Quality Assurance experience is a plus
