Job Description
Job Title: Development Manager
Dept: Security Lab
Job Summary

Responsible for the development of core tech security projects (like Anti-virus, Web Gateway Protection, Anti-Spam Engine etc) to meet cooperate requirements for functionality, quality, schedule and cost. Establishes staffing objectives and assignments and delegate assignments to development personnel. Responsible for administrating policies for employee development, performance planning and reviews, counseling, and evaluation
Essential Functions

Prioritize, manages and appraise the activities of developers to ensure projects meet cooperate schedule and quality goals

Determine, justifies and obtains approval for the necessary project resources, including personnel and equipment for projects

Coordinates with product management, as well as test, documentation and product support management to ensure that the needs of all projects are met.

Assist product management by providing technical insight and judgment of feature/schedule/cost tradeoffs. Ensure that product architectures and technology decision support corporate strategies and future direction

Manages morale of development group; develops and delivers employee performance evaluations and development plans; and ensure consistency in compensation actions for group
Expectation

Must have an excellent understanding of technologies relevant to the projects. These include:

1. Excellent project management skills and expertise, and be able to mentor developers on software development best practices and processes.
2. TCP/IP networking concepts and applications, including HTTP and other internet protocols, and socket level programming.
3. Use of proxy technology for network traffic and security management
4. Anti-virus/IPS/IDS/Firewall engine or products related experience is a bonus
5. C/C++, multi-threading, high availability and reliability programming
6. Solid understanding of windows, Linux, and Solaris operating systems and cross-platform development experience
7. Solid understanding of delivering high-performance, reliable, secure and scalable networking platforms and technology
8. Experience in global software development practice for delivering international ready products

Qualification

1. Education: BA/BS in computer science/engineering or equivalent experience
2. Experience: 6+ years experience in the software, networking and/or security industries, 2+ years management experience

Job Title: Sr. Software Engineer

Job Summary

Leads review of own work and actively participates in the review of fellow engineer’s work. Mentors and provides technical assistance to more junior developers.
Essential Functions
Develops core module designs based on functional requirements. Communicates designs in written form, and leads design reviews to solicit feedback and share best practices.
Codes and maintains software modules of significant size and complexity.
Designs, documents and creates unit and component tests for production code.
Develops prototype versions of software modules and applications.
Mentors and provides technical assistance to more junior developers.
Assists management with the scheduling process by accurately estimating task duration.
Quickly understands and takes ownership of existing code.
Participates in design and code inspections.
“MUST” Qualifications
1. Education: BA/BS Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
2. Experience: 5+ years software development experience
3. Excellent knowledge of C/C++ development in a Cross platform environment
4. Experience with networking technologies such as TCP/IP, sockets programming, network protocols etc.
5. Expertise in multi-threaded, asynchronous programming environments
6. Working knowledge of software “build” technologies including perl, ant, awk, make, gmake, cygwin.
7. Anti-virus/IPS/IDS/Firewall engine or products related experience is a bonus
8. Excellent communication (written and oral) and team-work skills
