Location: Beijing (HsinChu)
Description:
The candidate will be working for Sunplus Taiwan but located within the SunNorth Beijing. The candidate will participate and contribute to Sunpluss activities related to 3GPP RAN#2 and the evolution of the 3GPP towards ever improved efficiency and capability like LTE. This includes some level of theoretical analysis, computer aided analysis, system simulation, consistent contribution to Sunpluss IP portfolio, support for protocol design and development.
Although primarily based in Beijing, the role offers opportunities for international travel.
Requirements
Education
Master or Ph.D. degree from a good university, in Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or related subjects.
Knowledge of wireless communications - e.g. project and/or optional courses.
General Work Experience
Relevant experience in C, and preferably embedded systems is preferred.
Experience with relevant cellular protocols standards and components (ideally GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, HSPA, LTE but also for example DECT, PHS) is preferred.
Experience in communications systems especially software development on L2/L3 protocol is preferred.
Experience in participating 3GPP standardization meeting is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills
In-depth system knowledge and experience of 3GPP GSM/GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA technologies, especially RRC, RLC and MAC protocol
Solid understanding of networking concepts and theory.
Technical writing - able to express ideas clearly and concisely in English words and diagrams.
Programming skills in MATLAB.
Skills in design of communications simulation tools.
