Global Markets Analyst Programme (One-Year)
Our Global Markets business is one of the most pre-eminent of its kind in the world. We combine sophisticated 24-hour global coverage with detailed knowledge of local markets. As a market leader in the foreign exchange markets, foreign exchange derivative and risk management advisory services, we provide our customers with online and offline coverage from our centres in Hong Kong, London and New York. Our business is suited to strongly numerate, analytical, confident and customer-centric candidates.
You will be based in our Shanghai office. Upon joining, you will travel to London to attend a six-week global induction programme in the company of other Global Banking and Markets analysts from around the world. Upon your return, you will be assigned two, six-month rotations within the product area for which you were hired. During one of your rotations, you be assigned a six-week overseas attachment within the Asia-Pacific region. During this attachment, you will acquire a comprehensive knowledge of our regional operations as well as specialized local market knowledge. Further overseas exposure may be offered to stronger candidates as you progress in your career with us.
You will also enjoy the support, guidance and mentorship of our senior managers. There will be regular performance feedback discussions with your managers on your strengths, development areas and career aspirations for designing an appropriate career plan. Upon satisfactory completion of the programme, you will take up a solid role as an Analyst in Global Markets in our Shanghai office.

Qualities
We are looking for highly motivated and success-oriented candidates. Academically, you will need a 2.1 honours degree or Second Class Upper Division or GPA 3.2 or above or an overseas equivalent in any discipline. Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin is essential. However, personal qualities are just as important as qualifications. You will need to be an excellent communicator with the ability to analyze client needs and recommend viable solutions. Strong numerical, quantitative and analytical skills are a must. Finally, you should be highly adaptable, eager to learn and interested in how international financial markets function.
