Financing is another major area. The investor must answer some important questions such as, What is the appropriate level of debt? Is there an appropriate time to refinance in the case of a level-payment amortized loan? Should second mortgage sources be sought in order to expand the holdings of real estate investments when an attractive property becomes available? The answers to these and other questions involve dealing with financing policy, and the solutions are not easily derived.
