solutions to the mass market. Alfalfa is expanding to the Chengdu area

1. Title: Hardware Engineer I
Job Description:

Design of set-top box system. Assist in various hardware design aspects of
a set-top box based on functional specification, including part selection,
schematic design, schematicentry, board layout, board bring-up and functional
testing, board modification, and mechanical design.

Requirements:
1. Self starter with strong interest in hardware.
2. Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent with emphasis on circuit and
logic design.
3. Completed hardware project of significant complexity.
4. Experience with schematic capture and layout tools desired.
5. Experience with embedded coding using assembly language desired.
6. Experience with soldering desired.
7. English proficiency highly desired.




2. Title: Embedded Software Engineer I
Job Description:

Design of set-top box system. Assist in writing embedded device driver
under the linux operating system. Responsibility will also include porting of
applications to the MIPS platform.

Requirements:
1. Self starter with strong interest in hardware and embedded systems.
2. Computer Engineering degree or equivalent with emphasis in operating sys
tem and networking.
3. Completed programming project of significant complexity in an embedded e
nvironment.
4. Knowledge of C and other assembly languages.
5. Familiarity with TCP/IP and real-time protocols highly desired.
6. Understanding of linux operating system internals desired.
7. English proficiency highly desired.




3.Title: Web Application Engineer I
Job Description:

Design of Video on Demand (VOD) system. Write web applications using Ruby
on Rail, HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Responsibilities include writing
applica-
tions for database access and video streaming in addition to designing web
pages and GUI.

Requirements:
1. Highly motivated and creative.
2. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
3. Written web applications of significant complexity.
4. Expertise in HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
5. Knowledge of C or other high level programming languages.
6. Basic understanding of networking.
7. Familiarity with linux.
8. Background in graphics design highly desired.
9. English proficiency highly desired.




4. Title: Database Engineer I
Job Description:

Design of Video on Demand (VOD) system. Write database applications for MyS
QL under the linux operating system. Responsibilities include designing data
bases for video streams and their metadata.

Requirements:
1. Highly motivated and creative.
2. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with emphasis in Database.
3. Designed databases of significant complexity.
4. Familiarity with MySQL highly desired.
5. Knowledge of C or other high level programming languages.
6. Basic understanding of networking.
7. Familiarity with linux.
8. English proficiency highly desired.
