Position Title - Clinical Applications Specialist (CAS)

Basic Job Description:
Responsible for assisting China field sales and marketing in the instruction of existing and new cataract surgeons in the conversion from ECCE and SICS to Phacoemulsification. Surgeon training on the adoption and proper use of the entire range of Alcon phacoemulsification products such as; Single-Piece IOL’s, viscoelastics, and phacoemulsification equipment (Legacy, Laureate Infiniti) is core to this position. The CAS will mentor and assist field sales in the demonstration of products to key customers. In addition the CAS will teach, model and coach field sales/marketing to improve competency in the proper use of products, surgical technique, OR protocol and professional OR conduct.

Primary Accountabilities and Essential Functions:

Instruct surgeons in converting from ECCE and SICS to Phaco

Assist physicians together with sales personnel in the demonstration of identified core products

Instruct surgeons on how to achieve optimal surgical and patient results with key Alcon products

Teach, model and coach Alcon Sales and Marketing while consulting with surgeons in the operating room.

Evaluate surgeon surgical skills and the capacity of target facilities to delivery quality patient care services

Development of support materials for training, marketing and education related to the benefits of phacoemulsification as the first choice for cataract removal.

Education:
Medical Degree, Trained Ophthalmologist
Minimum Experience:
Trained and performed a minimum of 100 Phaco and ECCE procedures
Knowledgeable about core technology for all types of cataract procedures
Preferred Experience:
Prior employment with a premium international medical device company
Operating room product application and consultation experience
Work Requirement:
Position is travel intensive (12-15 days per month)
