Position: Junior Consultant

 

 

 

Emerging Asia is a specialist provider of commercial due diligence and

market strategy services. The firm works across all major industries, and on

behalf of well-known international companies. The work will be very

interesting, and Junior Consultants will learn a lot about various markets

and business in China within a short period of time. Our Shanghai Office is

located in a very convenient location on Huai Hai Zhong Lu, above the

Huangpi Nan Lu station and close to Xintiandi.

 

 

 

The Junior Consultant entry-level role involves market research and research

of Chinese companies. Depending on the project, the main methods for

gathering information are: 1) online research, 2) telephone interviews, and

3) face to face interviews or visiting retailers. The candidate must be

comfortable with, and willing to work using all 3 methods. Independent

thinking and creativity help to separate average performers from excellent

researchers. We will provide Junior Consultants with compensation at market

rates or above.

 

A brief description of the ideal candidate profile:

 

- Masters degree candidate or graduate in almost any major, such as pure

science (e.g., physics, chemistry, math), social sciences (e.g., politics,

economics), business, finance, or engineering

- Bachelors degree in English preferred, with TEM-8

- If not undergraduate English major, must have CET-6

- Must be able to effectively communicate in spoken and written English

- Must be able to understand business and technical terms in English,

translate into Chinese, and vice versa

- Standard Mandarin accent

- General knowledge of, and keen interest in Chinese business is a must,

even if no prior business-related work experience

- 即使之前没有任何商业经验,也必须对中国商业情况有大体了解,并具有浓

厚兴趣。
