宁波诺丁汉大学

宁波诺丁汉大学是经中国教育部批准，由英国诺丁汉大学与浙江万里学院合作创办，在中国设立的第一家引进世界一流大学优质教学资源、具有独立法人资格和独立校区的中外合作大学。学校由英国诺丁汉大学校长、著名中国科学院院士、前复旦大学校长杨福家教授担任校长，英国诺丁汉大学副校长（亚洲事务）高岩教授（Professor Ian Gow）担任执行校长。

 

学校地处宁波市高教园区，占地面积887亩，建筑面积18万余平方米，目前在校学生近2000人，教职员工160余人，其中外籍教师约100人。宁波诺丁汉大学实行全英文授课，旨在通过一流学术成就一流的国际化人才。学生毕业后将被授予英国诺丁汉大学学位。

 

宁波诺丁汉大学将英国诺丁汉大学的优势学科与中国社会经济发展实际所需相结合，引进一系列具国际一流水准的学位课程，实行与英国诺丁汉大学完全一致的教学评估体系。目前，学校已建立国际商学院、国际传播学院和国际研究学院，提供多个本科、研究生层次专业教学，并设有计算机科学、计算机科学与管理、建筑环境工程等三个2+2本科项目。此外，学校已成立六个研究机构，包括亚太事务研究所、比较文化研究所、学习科学研究所、英语语言教学研究中心、可持续发展研究所与国际金融研究所。

 

国际化是宁波诺丁汉大学的一项十分重要的发展战略。这一战略的实现由一支强大的国际师资队伍加以保证。学校师资全部由英国诺丁汉大学严格选派，从而使中国学生以远低于海外留学的费用、不出国门就能享受到国外一流大学的教育资源。目前，学校已拥有90多位专任外籍教师，从事学术英语及专业课程的教学。同时，学校有一支不断壮大的国际学生队伍，目前在校的国际生人数已将近100人，来自世界上20多个国家，包括全日制国际生、学年或学期制的交流学生。随着学校的不断发展，国际生的比例将逐渐达到在校生总数的25%。此外，每一个宁波诺丁汉大学学生都有机会通过夏季短学期到英国诺丁汉大学进行学习，或通过交换项目与海外学习项目前往其他世界著名院校学习。

 

为保证学校的一流的教学质量与国际声誉，宁波诺丁汉大学的学生人数在第一个五年计划里将初步控制在4000人之内。

The University of Nottingham is the first foreign top-ranked university to gain approval from the Chinese Ministry of Education under the new Sino-Foreign Education Co-operative Law to establish and run a campus independently within mainland China.The Division of Computer Science at the University of Nottingham Ningbo, China strives to achieve highest standards both in teaching and research, offering academic degrees from Bachelor to PhD.

The primary duty of the candidate is to deliver cutting-edge research in the fields of artificial intelligence, intelligent software systems, scheduling and optimisation in logistics, transportation, and timetabling. One of the objectives of the project is to investigate and develop intelligent computing techniques and software systems that can optimise current freight logistic networks, urban public transport scheduling and timetabling. Other duties will include producing publications in internationally leading journals and presentations at national and international conferences. The role will require the candidate to be innovative, to be able to work independently and as part of a team and to have good communication and interpersonal skills. In addition, the candidate is expected to undertake small amount of teaching/supervising for undergraduates and/or postgraduates.

 

Requirements:

PhD degree with research in at least one of the following fields: Computer Science, Operations Research, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Mathematics, Transportation Networks, Logistics, and Scheduling. Applicants with a relevant Master degree will also be considered (as a research assistant) if one has exceptional background and very relevant experience.

Strong research background, excellent analytical and problem modeling skills.

Excellent programming skills in at least one of the following languages: C++, Java, C#.

Good English skills (China CET Band 6).

Good knowledge of modern search techniques, e.g. Local Search, Meta-heuristics, Evolutionary Algorithm and Integer Programming. Relevant experience in transportation scheduling and logistics is preferred but not essential.
