Java engineer Job Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for the new and continuation of the Java based GUI and C software that manages the SNMP compliant Transition Networks family of products

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Contribute to the design of next generation of Network Management GUI SW application

·         Maintain (add new devices, fix bugs, add features) to the current Focal Point application

·         Integration and regression testing on Win32, Solaris, HP-UX, and Linux

·         MIB document maintenance

KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

·         BS in computer science or equivalent years of experience

·         Software testing design and implementation

·         Java, Java script, C software design

·         TCP/IP networking experience, SNMP experience preferred; MIB-2

·         Understanding of HTTP programming

·         WIN32, Solaris, HPUX, Linux system administration experience

·         Unix/Linux shell script development

·         English language skills

DVT engineer Job Description

SUMMARY

Design Verification Testing is the primary function.  This position is key to detecting quality issues in new products prior to customer delivery.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Test planning: formulating an overall test strategy, master test plan and detailed test cases for a CLI, GUI, and web applications, often without specs or any other type of documentation

·         Develop an understanding of all features in the product under test in order to completely regression test assuring product quality.

·         Compatibility testing: verify converter products work under all required configurations (operating systems, Web browsers), and with all appropriate competitors and interfacing networking products.

·         Regression test automation: develop and maintain scripts that automatically execute a regression test battery through the program's GUI to verify forward and backward compatibility.

·         Testing Documentation: Develop written records to document processes and findings, as well as communicate status to appropriate channels.

KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

·         Technical degree or equivalent years of experience

·         Familiarity with Networking products (hardware and protocols)

·         Attention to details

·         English language skills.
