is seeking an intern of assistant buyer for Laptop help the category managers to get the below job done.

 

Responsibility

1.    Selection (you pick products)

  • Vendors: know the key vendors, who's up and coming, who is having financial or other problems.
  • Competitors: know your key competitors, who's up and coming, what are they selling, what aren't they sell, what new features are they developing on their site, what is their value proposition, who is having financial or other problems
  • Industry & trade info: know the key industry and trade magazines, what online resources are customers looking to
  • customer info: know who the customer is, if/how that profile is changing over time

 

2.    Pricing

  • Pricing due to high inventory: We should review and action aged inventory weekly.  Review ASINs that may need action.
  •  Contribution Profit: daily review of previous day's results.  There are certain categories that you may want to charge shipping on, you own this recommendation.
  • Vendor central price change notification and approval:

 

3.    Vendor Relationship (establish relationships, coordinate meetings, own agenda & follow up, negotiate prices, payment terms, co-op, promotions, marketing events, exclusive products, special offers, associates marketing)

 

  • vendor set up, payment terms, submit to A/P
  • Vendor packet: clean, single consolidated form
  • Vendor Central: this should be a mandatory step in set up process for all new vendor

 

4.    Sell-through (buyer is responsible for ensuing timely sell-through of the products they select.  Buyer and site merchandiser partner together to drive all site merchandising and marketing activities):

 

  • Data Quality: AB is responsible for item set up and data quality.  Buyer is responsible for helping prioritize and review status reporting weekly.
  • Band A and B ASINs: buyer is responsible for identifying products he/she expects to fall within these bands.  Buyer is responsible for forecasting expected sample dates so that CB can coordinate photo shoot and/or amazon review activities.  This includes a monthly budget and annual roll-up plan.
  • Planning Calendar: all merchandising and marketing starts with a planning calendar.  Buyer owns initial set up.  This should include holidays, events, product releases, promotional events, industry events, vendor marketing events. Every month should have a theme tied to time of year/holiday.
  • Merchandising and Marketing Planning: from the planning calendar, buyer and site merchandiser will meet weekly and develop merchandising and marketing plan.   

 

 

Qualification:

 

 

-   Strong data analytical skill; Capable of writing SQL to deep dive the data

-   Good English-CET 6; Capable of writing narrative documents to report business progress and strategy

-   Major in Ecommerce ; Master degree is preferred and bachelor degree is accepted;  The education should give the candidate strong sense on ecommerce system.

-   Good team work and communication skill
