Responsibilities

l         Participate and contribute in all parts of the software development lifecycle

l         Take initiative and ensure timely delivery

l         Innovate, design and deliver new features and versions

Requirements

l         BS, MS or above in Computer Science or equivalent

l         Drive and commitment to work in a highly dynamic environment

l         Good knowledge of web standards

l         Strong C skills and firm understanding of object oriented programming

l         Good working knowledge of English

Ideals (one or more)

l         Experience with optimization of embedded platforms for speed, footprint and/or memory.

You will be working with highly qualified system administrators and developers in the Opera Mini team. Your task will be making sure that the large-scale Opera Mini server farms run well and keep up with the rapid usage growth.

Responsibilities

l         Capacity planning and load testing

l         Monitoring and incident management

l         Maintaining large-scale systems configuration management

l         Optimizing efficiency and geographical load balancing

Requirements

l         Linux/UNIX system administration experience and / or a strong scripting/programming background

Ideals (one or more)

l         Network equipment experience (Cisco/Juniper)

l         Large-scale system administration experience on Linux

Developer - Opera Mini

Location: Beijing, China, cn /

Opera is looking for excellent software developers for our Opera Mini team. We use C , C, Java and Pike in our systems.

Responsibilities

l         Participate and contribute in all parts of the software development lifecycle with our global team (Norway, Sweden, Poland and the United States).

l         Innovate, design and deliver new features and versions:

l         Client: optimization for speed, memory usage, code footprint

l         Server: development on large-scale distributed system

Requirements

l         BS, MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a related field

l         Solid knowledge of computer science

l         Strong programming skills in one or more of: C , C, Java, Python and Pike

l         Enthusiasm and motivation for working with complex problems and browser technology

l         Experience with optimization on embedded platforms for speed, footprint and / or memory

Senior QA / Web Specialist - Mobile and Devices

Location: Beijing, China, cn /

Help us bring the Opera Browser to millions of mobile phones and other devices by leading Chinese companies. Enable people across the world to enjoy the best Internet experiences and Web technologies on mobile phones, set-top boxes, portable media players, networked TVs, Web tablets and other devices.

Responsibilities

One of your primary tasks will be to ensure that all Opera Software products adhere to our vision - "the best Internet experience on any device".

You will be a part of our skilled team of software testers and work closely with developers and project managers to ensure that we can release all our products with the best possible quality.

l         Writing documentation, such as test reports

l         Reporting defects and issues proactively

l         Writing and executing test plans

l         Managing, analyzing and maintaining bug reports

l         Product testing on a variety of mobile handsets

l         Communicating and following up with customers directly

l         Writing test cases

Requirements

l         BS or MS in computer science or equivalent

l         Knowledge of network protocols

l         Good knowledge of end-user browser behavior

l         Experience using ECMAScript and knowledge of its specifications

l         Experience with more than one operating system

l         Ability to communicate in English (both written and oral). Other languages are a plus.

l         Excellent skills in the (X)HTML and CSS Web standards

l         Understanding of Internet security
