About Satyam Global Solutions Centre China (Nanjing)
In 2007 February, Satyam Computer Services Ltd. has set up China Global Solutions Centre in the Nanjing New and High Technology Industry Development Zone (NHZ). This centre will be built on campus style on land area of about 108 Chinese mu (7.2 hectares) and have capacity for 2,500 employees. This will be Satyam’s largest development facility outside India. Global Solution centre will play key role in Satyam’s strategy on Global Sourcing through localizing in the countries where it is operational. This centre will have state of the art training facility for its employees.
There are strong signs of change in the global outsourcing industry prompting companies to expand services to multiple geographies. Though outsourcing is not new phenomenon, its global nature has changed significantly over the years. Nanjing has well know educational institutes which offer good capacity of Technology graduates and this city also boasts of sizable pool of Human Resources with varied IT skills. The Nanjing campus will contribute to Satyam’s Virtually Integrated Global Delivery Model and complement established facilities in Malaysia, Cairo, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Satyam will services its Multinational customers across globe out of this centre and will also build capacity to service local customers and multinational companies operating in China. GSC China will work as near shore centre for other Asia Pacific countries, banking on unique multi lingual skills available in China. This centre would function as an offshore site for the company's customers in the U.S. and Europe, offering them an alternative site to India and hence cater to their needs for diversification. In addition, the centre would help Satyam service its Japanese client better, one of the main objectives behind Satyam's China operations.
Satyam enjoys strong support from the provincial and municipal governments toward this endeavour. This centre will follow the example of Satyam other campus, and be among the world’s top intelligent software parks featuring R&D, convention, accommodation and entertainment.
